Bears Sign Jimmy Kennedy
It was more a question of how soon than it was of rather they would or would not sign help at the defensive tackle position. The Bears placed both Anthony Adams (triceps) and Antonio Garay (leg) on the injured reserve yesterday and now are very thin at the position.
Today they signed Jimmy Kennedy, a former 1st round draft pick for the St. Louis Rams back in 2003. This is obviously another 'bring in guys I know' deal, as Kennedy played for Coach Smith while a defensive coordinator for the Rams.
Let us hope this familiar signing for Coach Smith works out a little bit better than his last.

"familiar"
The Bears don't have a choice but to sign pretty much any DT available - they need bodies. It makes the most sense to bring someone in that may have some familiarity with your system.

All I implied when I said familiar
The last statement is a knock on Arch, not anything toward Kennedy.
