WCG Mock Draft- Green Bay (#16)

16. Green Bay- Marshawn Lynch, RB, University of California.

Talk about no brainers!

Let me throw out a couple of stats at you.

Green Bay:

12th in overall defense.  13th against the run, 17th against the pass.  And 4th in sacks.

9th in overall offense, 8th in the passing department and 23rd in rushing. And 5th least sacks given up.

so: 12 - 13 - 17 and 9 - 8 -23

Do you remember Sesame Street?  Cause one of these things just doesn't belong.

It's quite obvious where the Green Bay Packers need to improve and that is at running back.  Ahman Green did a very nice job for them when he was healthy but he was always hurt.  And now, he's gone.  The rest of Green Bay's stable of backs is unimpressive at best. I have gone over many mock drafts and LITERALLY every one I have come by has the Pack taking Marshawn Lynch. And I agree.

He's a strong workhorse type.  he's not that explosive but is fast enough.  While only 5'11", at nearly 220 pounds, this guy is plenty big enough to be a bruising inside runner.  He's pretty much the consensus #2 running back in this draft and the Packers will jump all over him.

Mr. Lynch, I hope you enjoy getting splattered all over the field by one Mr. Brian Urlacher.  And may you have a prosperous career in Green Bay but saving your very worst games for those against the Bears.

With the 16th pick in this year's draft, the Green Bay Packers select, Marshawn Lynch.  Running Back,
University of California.

Yeah this one is pretty much
a guarantee.  The only other thing I can see them doing here is going after a WR.

thought about that too...
But right now, they have NO ONE to run the ball.

I saw some speculation
that the Packers were considering trading for Michael Turner.

Also, Coach Mike McCarthy thinks Vernand Morency can be an "every-down" tailback.

So you never know.

Rotoworld blurb
says the Packers may trade this pick for Michael Turner and the Chargers pick....

Also Gruden apparently really likes Peterson from Oklahoma.

They might...
But short of a trade for a RB, consider this pick a done deal.
