Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

BEARS 2007 Schedule

I am at a loss for how this schedule was decided.  We have our five TV games, plus the possibility of an extra.  I can't imagine they wouldn't put Bears/Saints in prime time, but only one MNF game is just wrong.

Sep 9 @San Diego 4:15pm
Sep 16 Kansas City 4:15pm
Sep 23 Dallas 8:15pm
Sep 30 @Detroit 1:00pm
Oct 7 @Green Bay 8:15pm
Oct 14 Minnesota 1:00pm
Oct 21 @Philadelphia 4:15pm
Oct 28 Detroit 1:00pm
Week 9 BYE
Nov 11 @Oakland 4:15pm
Nov 18 @Seattle 8:15pm
Nov 25 Denver 1:00pm
Dec 2 N.Y. Giants 4:15pm
Dec 6 @Washington 8:15pm
Dec 17 @Minnesota 8:30pm
Dec 23 Green Bay 1:00pm
Dec 30 New Orleans 1:00pm

Sunday Night
is the new Monday Night marquee game.

Looking at a 13-3 maybe 12-4 record with that schedule.

3 tough road games in all that, San Diego, Seattle & Philadelphia.

I think this is perfectly reasonable.
I'm glad I cheer for a team that is now good enough (with a good "home field") that every home game should be considered a win. (not that you say they go 8-0, but that 7-1 is probably as low as one should project)

I agree with all of this.
SNF is the new MNF, so i guess it isn't a "dis" as i said in my diary.

Its funny how ESPN had a special SportsCenter for the schedule announcement to trump up MNF. Its crazy how much those whores self-promote.

MNF is done
Since they were continually getting horrible ratings, they moved crappy games to MNF.  Like Rob said, SNF is the new MNF.  5x 8pm games is good enough.

My prediction is 11-5 or 12-4.

Also
there is flex scheduling, so who knows what they do.

maxed out?
Isn't there a rule that you can only play 5 or 6 primetime games?

6
I believe it's 6 games with the flex scheduling that started last year.

The rule
is a all teams except 2 can only have 5 games, the other two can have 6.  I am just saying with flex scheduling we could lose a game and/or add a game.

The schedule is easier than i expected...
having San Diego in the first week of the season is a huge advantage. It should be our toughest road game, but their players may still be adjusting to the new coaching regime. If we win that game, we're going to run away with the NFC... again.

Thinking the exact thing
And it gives us the best chance to be 100% healthy.  However, we will be missing Tank Johnson.  Hopefully Dusty will be a suitable backup.
