Brown Would Like Out of Chicago

I was very careful with my words on titling this one as Alex Brown is going the anti-Briggs route about things.

Brown said on Sirius NFL Radio that he has asked permission to seek a trade.

Brown possibly heading out of Chicago is not a new idea.  This is the first time that Brown has mentioned it.  With the numbers that Mark Anderson put up as a rookie filling in for Brown, plus Brown's low contract numbers makes him an easy target to be traded.

There is also talk that we drafted Dan Bazuin with the intent on replacing Adewale Ogunleye, though his numbers make it much more difficult to trade.

You were so careful on your title that you gave the wrong name! :)

Ha
I was scared at first when I saw the title.  I was thinking Alex Brown AND Lovie Smith wanted out.

Something is going on
There seems to be an increasing number of players wanting out of Chicago, which is odd for a SuperBowl team.

TJ got out, Briggs wants out, and now Brown.  This is probably not the last one.  I am wondering if the defensive guys have anything to do with Ron Rivera not being retained?

money
Brown and Briggs want money that there the Bears won't pay, it has barely anything to do with Rivera.

Move along . . .
Nothing new, just the under market players striking the iron while its hot.  Brown and Briggs are under market if you look at the numbers.

Not to mention the short window for these guys to get guaranteed money.

Winning is secondary if they get the $

If that was the case
there would be 80-100 guys a year requesting a trade around the league.  I could see if you are on a losing team and money would be at least one motivator, but not on a winning team.

Do you know there aren't?
I don't follow other teams that closely. But I don't think it's that many anyway.

Guy overperforming. Guy underpaid. Guy with national recognition.

Don't forget about Vasher last year. Well, at least threatening to sit out after one great year.
