Suitors Lining Up For Brown

Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is reporting that three teams have already shown interest in Alex Brown.   Those teams are the Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans.

Kansas City is looking for a potential replacement for Jared Allen, who will miss the first four games of the season due to suspension. Tennessee has serious issues across from Kyle Vanden Bosch and would seem to be an excellent fit. The Bears are believed to be asking for a second-round pick.

The part about the Bears asking for a second round was a bit surprising.   I didn't think they would be able to ask that much for him.

2nd Rounder
Brown's contract is very reasonable and cap friendly, so I assume that is why it is so high.

brown is a very good DE on both pass and run
not elite on either, but very good on both. a second rounder doesn't seem unreasonable. high, yes, but not unreasonable. the contract doesn't matter, though, since he'll insist on a new deal to accompany the trade.
