Bears Aquire Darwin Walker
If the Bears have a weak spot and by week spot I mean depth, it is at the defensive tackle spot. They took a step to solving that problem by trading for Darwin Walker from the Buffalo Bills for a 5th round draft pick.
Darwin Walker chats with new Bears teammates Alex Brown and Dusty Dvoracek at Sunday's practice.
"I'm extremely happy," Walker said. "They've had a lot of success and I just want to try to be a part of that; help in whatever way I can. As always, we all want to win a Super Bowl. That's my goal and that's our team's goal."
There is a catch. Walker wants a long term deal and there was a stipulation in the deal that sent him from the Eagles to the Bills that if a long term deal is not worked out he gets sent back to the Bills. Knowing this I can't imagine why the Bears would make this trade if they weren't prepared to offer him something.
Walker maintains that he wanted to go to the Bears all along, who wouldn't, but the Eagles would not send him there, likely since the Bears are one of the Eagles chief competition for the NFC. Credit: shawngoldman

evil twin
not sure about the evil twin thing. my bday is 9/26/80.
Do you change the lyrics of the humpty dance to say "cuz in the 69 my Mike B nose will tickle your rear?" Or pretend you're a misfit Beastie Boy?

Looks like he has already agreed to a contract
"The Bears did not extend Walker's contract, but a source said the deal was restructured to pay Walker some of the money up front in the form of a bonus."

The draft pick compensatioion...
Since he's been able to start the vast majority of his career for a good defensive team, Walker's obviously a good player. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get 8 sacks this year. If he can do that, and be a "key" in getting the team a Super Bowl win, he'll get himself a nice 3 or 4 year deal with some guaranteed cash.
I definitely think this is more than just a "step in the right direction".
