Benson who?

Thomas Jones eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark yesterday against the Pack with 4 games left in the season.

From The Chicago Sun-Times:

Thomas Jones walked out of the Bears locker room Sunday with the football he carried to reach 1,000 yards on the season neatly tucked under his left arm. He held it high and tight and seemed ready to slip out of his gray fur coat and break into a full gallop if necessary.

''It's a great accomplishment to have a thousand yards and still have four games left,'' said Jones, who pulled off the trick for the first time in his career and became the 10th player in Bears history to hit the milestone.

Jones credited the offensive line for the honor and went around the locker room and personally thanked every starter following his 93-yard performance on 19 carries in a 19-7 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Jones has 1,005 yards on the season on 236 carries despite missing one full game with a knee injury and halves of two others with rib and knee problems.

I think it is a real statement to Jones and our O-line to achieve something like this knowing that defenses are stacking the line since they have no respect for the passing game.  Congrats!
