For all the good and bad, it was nice to be there for this run. Unlike that magical season a few back, I think it is safe to say we will be back next year. A few things stick with me, going into the off-season.
First, Delhomme has entered into my Playoff Putz list. Did you see the way he was jumping around like a zoo monkey every play and then after the game? You have been there before, why is he so excited? They still have another game just to get to the Super Bowl. Be a professional man!
Maybe, Grossman can be our QB of the future. Obviously, he made some mistakes, but in game time he is still a rookie.
A CB is a must at some point this off season. Tillman has teetered between getting burned by everybody and playing good defense. He was useless out there today and not just when covering Smith. I don't mean a rookie CB either, go spend some good money if there are any good CBs out there.
Who would have thought our defense would be most at fault for our loosing? Granted they did make the stops at the end to get the ball back, but they gave up over 400 yards of offense.
At the end of the first 3 playoff games I made a comment that given that the first three games turned out to be more defensive battles then they should have that this game would end up being a 32-28 shootout. I guess I wasn't too far off.
So congrats to the Bears on everything they accomplished and here is looking forward to a nice 10 year playoff run:)
