Chicago or nothing

From the official site comes a small story on veteran Jeff Blake and playing in Chicago or not playing at all.

Jeff Blake exchanged cell phone numbers with Brian Urlacher the day after the Bears were eliminated from the playoffs. But the veteran quarterback hopes he doesn't need a good long-distance plan to keep in touch with Urlacher in 2006.

Blake, who's slated to become an unrestricted free agent, told ChicagoBears.com that he intends to either re-sign with the Bears or retire from the NFL following 14 seasons.

A father of three, quarterback Jeff Blake is tired of moving from city to city and wants to return to the Bears next season.
"I won't be anyplace else," Blake said. "I'll play in Chicago or I won't play at all. I'm tired of moving. I've been in five cities in five years, so either I'll come back here or I won't play."

At this point, it's unclear whether the Bears intend to re-sign Blake, who would return as the third-string quarterback behind starter Rex Grossman and backup Kyle Orton.
