Concerning Hester

Whether this team is to succeed or fail based on the arm of Grossman, there are those who deserve attention for their contribution to this team.  Rookie Devin Hester is definitely one of them.  Here are two quick items on him.

Devin Hester has been named Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance versus the Vikings.

The rookie phenom returned a punt 45 yards for a touchdown to stake the Bears to a 7-0 lead, tying an NFL record that's shared by nine other players with four combined kick return TDs in a season. Hester returned a second punt 25 yards and averaged 22.7 yards on three kickoff returns.

Some stats on Hester:

Devin Hester needs 13 yards to break Jeff Fisher's club record of 509 punt-return yards set in 1981. Hester set a team mark with his third punt return touchdown against the Vikings and his 14.2-yard average currently is the third best in Bears history, trailing Gale Sayers (14.9 in 1965) and George McAfee (14.5 in 1947).
