English backs out

The real issue here is the Bears need to have somebody in place with the combine closing fast.  CB is a possibility in the first round and the DBs coach should be in place to help make that decision.

Suddenly, the Bears' search for a defensive backs coach is on again.

Ron English, who accepted the position Feb. 3, said he would bring his signed contract with him when he showed up for his first day of work today at Halas Hall. That was enough for the team to send out a press release announcing his hiring Tuesday, but plans changed when English called Thursday and said he was not coming after all. He reneged to remain at Michigan, where he was promoted to defensive coordinator.
