Not that this is surprising to anybody, but Eddie Drummond just moved to the top of Bears shopping list, with the Skins sigining of Randle El.
Team officials immediately shifted focus to Drummond. In four seasons with Detroit, the 5-foot-9-inch, 190-pound Drummond has returned two kicks and four punts for touchdowns and averaged 24.4 and 9.5 yards, respectively, on kickoffs and punts.
Drummond was involved in two high-profile plays against the Bears last season. He returned a kickoff 41 yards to set up Detroit's lone score in the Bears' Sept. 18 home victory. Kicker and fellow Penn State alum Robbie Gould also drilled Drummond during the Bears' Oct. 30 overtime victory in Detroit.
If Drummond isn't signed, former Packer Antonio Chatman is a possibility, as are Tim Dwight and Az-Zahir Hakim, who played for St. Louis when Lovie Smith coached there.
