Another piece in place

Ensuring that the Bears remain strong at the offensive line spot, Terrance Metcalf has been extended.

The Bears on Friday further solidified their offensive line by agreeing to terms with guard Terrence Metcalf on a six-year contract. The 2002 third-round draft pick from Mississippi was slated to become an unrestricted free agent at midnight Monday

And the even better news.

With Metcalf in the fold, none of the Bears' 22 starters from last season will hit the open market. The only starter not under contract is linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer, who is due to become a restricted free agent, which means that the Bears can match any offer he receives.

No matter what you think of our GM you have to give him credit for managing the players.  Very few that we want get away and he takes care of the guys before it becomes a problem.
