Watching the first half of play from the Bears and I had flashes of listening to Harry Doyle from Major League as he passes out after finishing the bottle to numb the pain.
The defense allowed a pumped up Packers team to walk all over them the fist half. At least they showed signs of life in the second half holding the Pack to only a field goal, granted they still were moving the ball quite easy on us.
I don't even know what to say about our offense. Even when Griese was in, we only looked a bit better. Perhaps, if Griese has taken more snaps in practice and had more time with the starting receivers he could have done more, but who knows.
The one bright spot on the evening was Cedric Benson who ran for a career high 109 yards for an amazing 8.4 average. It will be interesting to see how the running back situation plays out after we win the Super Bowl.
Now we have to wait 2 weeks and hope that Coach Smith and the boys can straighten out whatever needs to be fixed before our first game or this will be another quick exit for the boys of blue and orange.
