Facts and Figures

Here are a bunch of random figures that may or may not pertain to this week's game, but most at least pertain to the Bears.  These come from Cold, Hard Football Facts and from NFL.com.

The only other time the Bears and Saints played each other in the playoffs, Chicago won 16-6 in a 1990 NFC Wild Card Game.
-----------
Chicago's Rex Grossman had five completions of 20 yards or longer. Those five passes went for 177 yards; his other 16 completions went for 105.
-----------
Saints coach Sean Payton played for the Bears as a replacement player during the NFL strike in 1987.
-----------
Dome teams have won just 19 playoff games at home against teams that play outdoors in the history of the NFL

Unfortunately...

It happened twice this season:

Indy beat Kansas City
New Orleans beat Philly
------------
None of the top ten rushers in the league are still in the playoffs.
------------
Of the remaining teams, all finished in the top ten in fewest sacks allowed.  The Bears were 7th.
------------
The Bears have gotten a first down 36 time this year by way of penalty.  That leads the league.
------------
Drew Brees hasn't played a game at under 40 degrees since 2004.
------------
Only 2 of the top twenty in sack.  Of the remaining four teams, only one has more than 10 sacks, Bears rookie DE Mark Anderson.
