SAINTS/BEARS- QB Numbers

In a head to head comparison, the quarterback is one place where unfortunately we don't match up.  Drew Brees has been arguably the best quarterback in the league this year.  If not the NFL, definitely the NFC.  Rex Grossman has been magnificent at times, utterly miserable others and slightly above average and competent in between.

Brees' play has been close to perfect granted that has a lot to do with his protection up front and the pass catching that Bush brings to the table, but there is not much for which you can knock him.

Through the first 5 games Grossman was a viable MVP candidate, then the wheels came off.  Whether lack of protection, an urge to always go long, a tendency to throw of his back foot, lack of pocket awareness, bad throws or all of the above Grossman's game has come off the hinges.  Through 4 of the Bears last 5 games, exluding of course the Packers 0.0 rating, Grossman seems to be back to the type of QB the Bears need to win this thing, but the knowledge of what could happen is always in the back of every Bears fan's mind.
