Disregard the dirty sound of that title and just focus on the story. Today the Bears did something the Titans have not been able to do, cut loose a bad headache. The Bears have waived troubled defensive tackle Tank Johnson.
Johnson was picked up for being almost drunk just a week after getting out of jail and promising to become Man of the Year.
"We are upset and embarrassed by Tank's actions last week," said general manager Jerry Angelo. "He compromised the credibility of our organization. We made it clear to him that he had no room for error. Our goal was to help someone through a difficult period in his life, but the effort needs to come from both sides. It didn't, and we have decided to move on."The bigger issue for the Bears is depth. The Bears were planning to be without him for 6 games, but they did plan to get him back. They will need to start finding a more permanent replacement if free agent pickup Anthony Adams is not the answer.
