Ok, so our defense was beaten down to rubble by the end of the year and our offense was so bad it was laughable at times, at least we have our special teams. For the second straight year, the Chicago Bears have the #1 ranked special teams based on the statistics kept by Dallas Morning News columnist Rick Gosselin.
They finished with a score of 236.5 which was 5.5 ahead of San Diego who came in second.
It's very special," said special teams coordinator Dave Toub. "It says a lot about our guys and how important it is to them that we are the best. That's always our goal. Our goal is obviously to win the Super Bowl. But our No. 2 goal is to be the best special teams unit in the league, and to do that two years in a row, it's a great honor. I'm very proud of the players."
Obviously having Devin Hester helps your numbers tremendously, but Coach Toub has a great group of guys and a great scheme and they all work well together and this is well deserved.
