Bears coach Lovie Smith as a sit down with a reporter to talk about all types of things. While most was about his displeasure with Cedric Benson last year there was a bit at the bottom that got my interest.
What seems certain is the Bears will bring in competition for Benson--probably from the draft. But ...
"It's probably better getting linemen earlier [in the draft]," Smith said. "More running backs have turned out later in the draft than have offensive linemen or even defensive linemen."
I know Angelo makes the calls, but Smith is in all the meetings and has a say. Are the Bears leaning towards a linemen? Not that that is a huge surprise, but coming from a team that doesn't let on anything it is something.
