WCG Mock Draft - The Cleveland Browns Select...

Aaron Curry
Wake Forest
Outside Linebacker

ANALYSIS:   This was too easy considering the Seattle pick of Crabtree was a stretch. Had they gone with Curry, I likely would have had to go with B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College. But since Curry is there, let's get into why he's the pick for the Browns.

The Browns will be playing a 3-4 under Mangini and have a major deficiency at the LB position, which is essential in the scheme. Curry brings speed, power, athleticism and most importantly, he brings the wood. Posting a 4.52 40 time at the combine and showed decent mobility in dropping into pass coverage, Curry will make an instant impact on the Browns defense. Though there is some concern that he plays with too much reckless abandon, causing him to be out of position and somewhat ineffective on pass plays, Curry has enough athletic ability to recover and when he does -- watch out. His strength is playing the run as he's able to shed blocks and make plays at the line of scrimmage and in the backfield. Curry has a bright future in the NFL.
