Beleaguered quarterback Kyle Orton has been claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs, according to ESPNChicago.
Orton, a man many Bears fans were championing to be the back-up to new minted starter Caleb Hanie, had previously indicated that he would be unlikely to report to any team other than the Bears, so we'll keep you updated on that situation.
That makes it likely that originally indicated back-ups JT O'Sullivan or Josh McCown are the likely candidates for the Chicago Bears to pick up.
SS Update: According to Jensen's Twitter, the Bears did put in a claim for Orton. But, so did the Cowboys. Was Dallas trying to block the Bears? Dallas is also in the wild card hunt.
