WCG Staff Mock Draft - Round 1, Pick 16

I consider my self to be a Draftnik. I pour over scouting reports, check out film, watch NFL Network, and read and reread mock drafts. I have to say in all honesty, that the mock draft we have going on right here at WCG is one of the best I've seen. Kev is on the clock, and...

With the 16th pick in the Windy City Gridiron Staff Mock Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select...

Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa - And here's what Kev had to say about his selection:

When you play in a division where you have to face Peyton Manning and Matt Schaub twice a year, defensive pressure goes a long way. With that in mind, the Jacksonville Jaguars selective defensive end Adrian Clayborn from Iowa.

At around 6'3" 281, Clayborn has worked his way into position as a top defensive line prospect. The Jaguars run a sort of hybrid 4-3/3-4, and Clayborn should fit that scheme very well.

Last year some say the Jags stretched with their choice of Tyson Alualu, a sort of combo end/tackle player. Last season he proved himself more than capable. Taking Adrian at this point in the draft won't be considered a stretch at all. Clayborn and Alualu could be the catalyst to really getting that defense turned around, and maybe it'll help fill some seats in Jacksonville.
