When the Bears grabbed Safety Major Wright in the 3rd round of the 2010 NFL Draft, all signs pointed to him being able to step in and start from Day 1. But seeing him miss five games early in the season, and not registering a single tackle until Week 11 was mild cause for concern. He finished 2010 with only 24 regular season tackles, zero interceptions , and zero pass deflections.
With Danieal Manning's future unknown at this point, and the drafting of Chris Conte in 2011 (yes, I do think that could be significant), Wright could be again a question mark for next season. You'd have to think that a starting safety position is his for the taking, if he can stay healthy, but it won't come without significant competition. Let us know what you think.
