So um how about that Women's World Cup final result? (crickets) That's what I thought.
Now back to talking some gridiron.
Pro Football Talk finally got around to continuing their Team Checklists and the Chicago Bears hit the page this morning. After the jump, let's take a look at a few of their wishlist items.
Right at the top of the list, re-signing Olin Kreutz, and right after that, making sure J'Marcus Webb can play left tackle. Right away, we'll have two position floppers, plus any free agent guards picked up. Olin's continuity to that line isn't a bad thing.
The rest is fairly standard stuff that we've known about for the past six months; linebackers (Nick Roach, Pisa Tinoisamoa), wide receiver shopping (Steve Smith? Either or both of 'em? V-Jack? Sidney Rice?), re-signing Matt Forte and Anthony Adams.
And we know we should be looking for a cornerback, at the minimum for competition, but they also suggest looking for a cornerback... for 2012. After this season, Zackary Bowman and Tim Jennings are both free agents. Flipping through the free agency lists and depending on restrictions, Jonathan Joseph and Brent Grimes might be fairly good multi-year options at 27 and 28, and Brandon Carr at age 25, though also restricted, looks like a longer term option. Anyone have any other suggestions?
