Well, ladies and gentlemen, here we are. After a long, tumultuous offseason, uncertainty of a season, and suffering the ignominy of the Packers winning the Super Bowl of all things, we've made it through free agency, training camp, and here we sit at... a preseason football game, where none of the first three things matter. Especially the Packers and their Super Bowl.

The Buffalo Bills take their act to Soldier Field, pending that the Park District watered like they were supposed to. For a couple of quick-hitters...

Bills receiver Lee Evans is no longer a Bill. He was traded to the Ravens for a fourth round pick yesterday. For what it's worth, one less thing to worry about.

More after the jump...

According to Brad Biggs, Devin Hester won't likely see action as a returner tonight. Whether that's to even the playing field or to not put Hester at risk is another debate.

The skill position starters will likely be limited on the snaps they see, but the offensive line could see extra time. Also, Sam Hurd, suffering a lower-leg injury on Wednesday night, could be held out of the game tonight.

The Matt Forte contract situation is experiencing some additional complications, per the Sun-Times. Haven't seen confirmed anywhere if he will or won't play, but we'll keep you posted.

Editor's Note: Per Biggs, it looks like Forte will play.

And a good read on J.T. Thomas.

It's gameday, folks. Be ready.
