Start the Show: Week 1, Falcons at Bears (Pregame Open Thread)

Finally, after long last, the moment we've been waiting for with bated breath has arrived. No more articles about lockout implications. No more preseason discussion; no more roster overmanagement (or undermanagement). No more Roy Williams versus Johnny Knox, or Roy Williams articles. (Well, we can't promise that...) And no more NFC Championship Game fallout talk!

Yes, folks, the regular season started on Thursday, but today's the day that really matters, as the Atlanta Falcons travel up north to Chicago to face our Bears. Last year's #1 and #2 NFC seeds, meeting in week one... Does it get any better than that?

So break out that tattered old lucky jersey and the tailgate foods (and drinks), make sure your fantasy lineups are set for the day, and get your errands out of the way, cause today, my friends, football begins.

The story we're all concerned about, Dane Sanzenbacher will be active for today's game.

Marion Barber, not so much.

Other injuries: Questionable, Corey Wootton (knee) and Sam Hurd (ankle). Probable: Anthony Adams (calf), Lance Briggs (knee), Kahlil Bell (knee), Chris Conte (head), Kellen Davis (back), Pat Mannelly (calf), Craig Steltz (hip)

Falcon's Injury Report

Out: C Todd McClure (knee), DT Corey Peters (knee); Probable: DT Jonathan Babineaux (knee), C Rob Bruggeman (concussion), OT Tyson Clabo (elbow), CB Dunta Robinson (hamstring), DE Lawrence Sidbury (ankle), WR Roddy White (thigh)

The Daily Herald's Bob LeGere says Forte won't worry about potential injury.

Dan Pompei says something about our offensive line undergoing a "baptism of fire." But they were so good in preseason, right? Right?!

And I guess we have another Roy Willams article, but it's some good stuff out of Tom Thayer.

Late Addition: Always love it when Matt Bowen breaks down X's and O's. Enjoy this.

Now with all the propers out of the way... LET US DO THIS THING!
