Starting on the Right Note: Bears Defeat Falcons 30-12

That was about as perfect of a start to the season as a Bears fan could expect, as the matchup of last season's top two NFC seeds finished with a 30-12 dismantling of the former #1 seed.

Looking at the total numbers would indicate a far closer game than the score would indicate, but where the Bears finished off drives with touchdowns and taking care of the ball, the Falcons gave up an interception on Matt Ryan's eighth pass of the game to Brian Urlacher that led to the game's first touchddown, an early fumble that killed a drive, and a fumble midway through the third quarter which Urlacher ran in for a touchdown.

The only blemishes the Bears allowed were a pair of field goals and a batted-around Jay Cutler fourth quarter pass which Kroy Biermann ran all the way back.

Quick numbers after the jump.

Brian Urlacher: 1 INT, 10 tackles, 1 deflection, Fumble Recovery TD
