Tonight the NFL will announce the 2013 Pro Bowl rosters, and there should be a couple of Chicago Bears on their NFC list, if not more.
There are three portions that make up the total Pro Bowl vote: Fans, players, and coaches. Tim Jennings was the leading vote-getter on the fan portion at cornerback for the NFC, collecting over 312,000 votes. Jennings still leads the NFL in interceptions (8), despite missing two games with a dislocated shoulder.
The Bears could have a few other players on the NFC roster, primarily from the defensive side of the football. Cornerback Charles Tillman, DT Henry Melton, and LB Lance Briggs could all be possibilities. On offense, I would think that Brandon Marshall will be a slam dunk.
It's no surprise that the Pro Bowl has all but lost the attention of not only the fans, but players at this point as well. It seems that more and more, players have mysterious little injuries that pop up after the season is over that prevents them from playing, and we end up seeing rosters fill up with 3rd, 4th, and even 5th runners up by the time Pro Bowl Saturday rolls around.
The official announcement will air on the NFL Network at 7pm ET, so feel free to chat about it here until then.
Who are your locks/ alternates from the Bears at this point?
