Devin Hester considering retiring in wake of Lovie Smith's departure

At first this seemed like a brash reaction, but after reading his quotes, he sounds serious.

USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this afternoon, I jokingly tweeted 'Has Devin Hester been fired yet?' -- Not realizing that the Chicago Bears wide receiver/ kick returner had actually spoken about his future in the league now that Lovie Smith had been fired. From Maggie Hendricks:

"I don't even know if I want to play again," Hester said. "That's been something on my mind for two years. It's not (much fun for me anymore). I've got my workers comp papers in my pocket. We'll see how I feel. I'm going to go home and talk to my wife and talk to my family and see where we go from there. I got two beautiful kids, man, two boys. A lot of stress has been on my mind lately."

Jay Glazer mentioned earlier that the Chicago Bears players were having a stronger reaction to Lovie Smith's termination as he had ever seen in the league, but would some of them just up and quit?

Something tells me this might not be the last we've heard of this. Stay tuned...
