On Wednesday, we handed out the first of the offseason Big Three awards, and today we'll be handing out the second. Frankly, I'm not surprised as to the... ahem... "variety" of players voted on for the Offensive Player of the Year (Cutler, Forte) and I'm not really surprised as to the winner of that one. This one will turn out just as close, possibly even closer. How close? Hit the jump for our Defensive Player of the Year votes...
Lester's Pick: Brian Urlacher - Urlacher is still the man on defense. Another 100+ tackles, 3 more interceptions, and another Pro Bowl. Honorable Mention Julius Peppers.
TJ's Pick: Charles Tillman - Other than the San Diego game, proved his worth as an upper-tier CB.
Sam's Pick: Charles Tillman - Tough choice between Pep and Peanut, but I'm going with Peanut. 3 INTs, two TDs, 4 FFs and two fumble recoveries.
Stephen's Pick: Julius Peppers - He was our one-man pass rush, and looked a bit better all-around than he did last season.
Pete's Pick: Charles Tillman
Dane's Pick: Brian Urlacher - I will never nominate Tillman for an award, so I'm going with Urlacher. 102 tackles, 3 INTs, and 7 passes deflected.
(Editor's note: Hey, Steltz was eligible, and if you extrapolate those two games he had...)
Kev's Pick: Julius Peppers - The defense is entirely predicated on the ability of him and Brian.
Steven's Pick: Brian Urlacher - Honestly, I'm torn. Peppers and Tillman both had outstanding seasons, but I'm going with Urlacher. Still performing at an exceptional level, especially with occasionally questionable play in front of him and a revolving door behind him.
With that being laid out... We appear to have a tie. That means... Your turn.
