Weekend Edition: Bears Free Agency Open Thread

I'm pretty sure this is actually Eddie Murphy, but just to be sure, let's throw a football at him.
I'm pretty sure this is actually Eddie Murphy, but just to be sure, let's throw a football at him.

It's the weekend, and there's still free agency going on - players for the Bears to pick up, ignore, all that kind of thing. So let's start out by getting you up to speed on what's gone on around here on Friday:

  • Late Thursday night the Bears resigned DE Israel Idonije on a one-year deal.
  • Craig Steltz is back on a two-year deal.
  • Kamerion Wimbley was released by Oakland - what are the chances the Bears make a play for him?
  • The Bears introduced Brandon Marshall and Jason Campbell to the media. Yeah, that's right, the backup quarterback.

  • And in other news... Eddie Royal became a San Diego Charger.
  • Mario WIlliams, Buffalo Bills.
  • Peyton Manning is up for either Denver, Miami or San Francisco, possibly.
  • Atlanta re-upped John Abraham for a 3-year deal.
  • Former Lions' 3rd stringer Drew Stanton is a Jet.

And with that, here's your open thread for free agency news and such. If anything breaks that concerns the Bears, of course we'll slap it on the front page; otherwise, we'll periodically update you around the league and keep the conversation going.
