OT Matt Kalil, University of Southern California

Swarley: As an athletic 6'7", 300 lb lineman, Kalil provides the stability on the left side that a rebuilding team needs. It's not the flashy pick that Blackmon would be, but having him would do no good if Ponder was constantly being sacked by the likes of Peppers, Fairley and Suh. Kalil has all the talent to be a starting left tackle in the NFL for the next decade and would cross one of the (many) needs off of the Vikings list.
