Charles Tillman Answers Girl's Math Homework

"Oh yeah? You shoulda seen what I REALLY wanted to say to that Packers-loving teacher..."

As reported at various times yesterday both in the FanShots and in the Den comments, Charles Tillman took some time out of his visit to a suburban Chicago store in promoting the Cornerstone Foundation to respond to a teenage girl's math homework.

Now, this is a task more suited for the Superfans, but as Bill, Carl, Pat and Todd are already out scouting for the perfect Super Bowl tickets behind the Bears' bench, right about the 45 yard line, they asked me to post this to their section in their stead (although Todd struggled with that word, so I don't know if they're staying there, how long they've stayed or how long they'll continue to stay there, but they'll be back eventually I bet).

Anyway, after the jump, the question posed in the homework, the honorable Mr. Tillman's response, as well as a challenge to you.

Question: "The Packers play the Bears 4 times in two seasons. The Packers, being a much better team have an 80% chance of winning each game. What is the probability that the Bears win all four games? What is the probability the Bears win at least one game?"

Answer: Mr. Amrein,

This is Charles "Peanut" Tillman of the Chicago Bears and I'm shocked that you would have a problem like this for your students. The probability that the Bears would win in my opinion is 100%. Please do not and I repeat DO NOT send them home with math homework that is disrespectful to our team, city and our beloved Chicago Bears.
