Brian Urlacher returned to the team, but not to practice, as he continues to sit out. In other news, with the addition of two linebackers today, raise your hand if you realized Jabara Williams missed Thursday's game. Dom DeCicco sat out practice today as well with a minor groin injury. Major Wright, on the other hand, practiced in pads after leaving Thursday's game.
Chris Williams was working at left tackle for stretches. Webb played at left tackle deep into Thursday's game for reps and to see how he handled it, and I suppose the answer there in the coaches' minds was "not well." Webb returned to first-team left tackle during 11-on-11 drills, but Williams still took some snaps there.
Chris Conte made a very impressive pick as Terrium Crump fell down - Conte made a diving adjustment and snagged it, and returned it for a touchdown. No word on what the French judge thought of it.
Corey Wootton apparently fielded a kickoff and returned it for a touchdown. Well, he does contribute on special teams, but I don't think that's what they had in mind.
Hey, did you guys remember Harvey Ungastill exists?
So something to look for in pass rush situations, potentially Israel Idonijeshifting inside. In pass rush drills, he did just that. I don't know, some part of me wants to see Peppers/Paea/Melton/McClellin on the rush line, unless Idonije's in there versus Paea to counter the draw. Also, I love seeing people tweet to Brad Biggs like they're trying to teach him something.
Craig Steltz got a little first-unit time at strong safety, particularly with Major Wright a little dinged up.
Marshall was covered by Isaiah Frey. Cutler and Marshall taught Frey very quickly not to try that again.
Cory Brandon got some RT reps as the team is trying to keep Gabe Carimi's reps reduced coming off surgery. Brandon quickly got into it with safety Anthony Walters.
Wootton showed some good skills on Thursday. And apparently, he's keeping it up.
Stephen Paea sat out for a while as he fell over a teammate. Meanwhile, "Torso A" came in to substitute. I would have liked to see Torso B, seems a bit thicker in the run game. (It was Toeaina.)
