Bears practiced just wrapped up. Thanks to all who participated in the open thread. Let's take a gander at some quick hits from today's practice:
-Before practice started, it was announced that Devin Thomas, signed to a one year deal in the offseason, had left the team and decided to retire.
-Brian Urlacher sat out for the fourth consecutive practice. Time for the panic button yet? Zaidman says no.
-J'Marcus Webb continued with the 1s today. Gabe Carimi worked at RT with the 1s too. Bonus Twitpic of Tice working with Webb.
-Peppers also with the day off. Wootton took his spot.
More after the jump:
-Alshon Jeffery keeps his strong showing.
-Thaddeus Gibson and Chauncey Davis with some highlights. Here and here.
-Matt Forte left practice on a cart. Reason to panic? Nope, he returned.
-In light of the Devin Thomas news, Sanzenbacher sightings increase. And here. So too, do Brittan Golden's reps.
-Things get feisty on the back end of the roster.
-McClellin continues to improve. And not just against Webb. But not against Carimi.
-Offensive line competition continues to be less of a competition.
-This is just a new norm, so it almost doesn't need to be shared, but it's been so foreign to Bears fans, I included it anyway.
-Rookie Evan Rodriguez runs with the ones.
-Safety Chris Conte continues his strong camp.
-Another rookie highlight.
-As has become the norm for practices of late, the Bears ended with live contact for the bottom end of the roster.
