Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Bears will be bringing in RB Steve Slaton for a workout, in the wake of the upper ankle injury of Matt #PayDaMan Forte.
"A league source confirmed that the team plans to bring in veteran Steve Slaton for a workout. Slaton was a third-round pick of the Texans in the the 2008 NFL Draft. He started this season with Miami but was released Sept. 1. The Dolphins attempted to trade Slaton before his release.
Slaton is due to arrive in Chicago Friday night from Houston, with his workout scheduled for Saturday. The Bears could bring in a few more running backs, too. Another option would be to re-sign Kahlil Bell, who was released during the preseason and remains a free agent. The team waived Bell after he declined to take a pay cut that would have reduced his $1.26 million salary to $700,000."
Does this mean Forte's ankle will have him sidelined for a significant amount of time? Would you rather see Bell brought back?
Sound off below, and more updates as they are available.
