2013 NFL Draft: Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert

Tyler Eifert's been on many fans' and analysts' radars as a possible target for the Bears at the twentieth pick. What do you think?

Eileen Blass-USA TODAY Sports

When last we saw Tyler Eifert, he was doing nothing on the field for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as they got completely shellacked by Alabama in the national title game. But one game doesn't exactly mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, and in the game you saw some of the things that make him an attractive target - an ability to go up for catches, run pretty good routes and make the tough catch. Blocking's been a concern with him, but over the last three years he's improved that blocking as well as set numerous school records for receiving as a tight end.

He led the Irish this past season with 50 catches for 685 yards and four touchdowns - over his collegiate career that's 140 catches for 1,840 yards and 11 touchdowns, but never a 100-yard game. He'll be leaving Notre Dame as a redshirt junior with the biggest knock being his downfield speed - or rather, having very little of it. He is able to use his size to get open, though.

According to NFLMocks, his best comparison is "Todd Heap, except Eifert is a much better blocker."

CBS currently has him as the 25th overall prospect and top tight end, going in both their current mocks at 19 to the Giants and 31 to the Broncos. WalterFootball has him at 27 currently going to the Packers.

Where do you see Eifert going, and would you want him on the Bears at the 20th pick?
