Chicago Bears Injury Update: Brandon Marshall will have his hip scoped

This could be nothing more than a minor clean up, but time will tell...

USA TODAY Sports

Various Chicago Bears beat writers are reporting that Brandon Marshall needs to have his hip scoped. There has been noting about the injury from Marshall or the Chicago Bears, so at this point any talk about the severity of the surgery would be just speculation.

From Rotoworld:

Brandon Marshall will reportedly undergo offseason arthroscopic surgery on his hip.
It's believed to be a minor procedure, but it's still a concern due to Marshall's history. He underwent hip procedures during the offseasons of 2009 and 2010, robbing him of explosiveness in 2011. This is now Marshall's third hip surgery in the past five years. We will be sure to keep a closer eye on his practice reports during OTAs, as he's not expected to be sidelined longer than a month.

If he lost some explosiveness in 2011 his stats didn't take a hit as he still had 81 receptions and 1,214 yards for the Miami Dolphins.
