Chicago Bears hire Joe DeCamillis as assistant head coach/ special teams coach

New, comments

New Chicago Bears head coach is already filling in the pieces of his coaching staff.

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

Marc Trestman has been the Chicago Bears head coach for only a few hours now, but has already started penciling in his assistant staff.

Joe DeCamillis, who at one point was a candidate for the head coaching position, has been hired by Trestman as assistant head coach/ special teams coach. DeCamillis has spent the better part of the last three decades in the league, most recently serving as the Dallas Cowboys special teams coach since 2009.

DeCamillis will have large shoes to fill, with the departure of long-time special teams coordinator Dave Toub, who joined Andy Reid's staff in Kansas City.

How do you feel about these rapid-fire hires being made by our new head coach? Seems like he's a man with a plan, and he's not wasting any time putting his team together...

We will wait to hear about whether Rod Marinelli will stay on board as defensive coordinator.

Stay tuned...
