Final Score: Chicago Bears lose 45-41 to the Washington Redskins

Great football game in the nation's capitol this afternoon between the Bears and Redskins. Quick recap inside.

Patrick McDermott

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler went down in the 2nd quarter with an injured groin, and did not return to the game.  In his absence, Matt Forte stepped up and rushed for three touchdowns, with Devin Hester adding another TD via an 81 yard punt return, and backup QB Josh McCown throwing for another.

But at the end of the day, Robert Griffin, III and the Redskins' offense was too much for a dilapidated Bears defense, which was not only hampered by season-ending injuries to defensive tackles Henry Melton and Nate Collins earlier in the season, but also saw linebacker Lance Briggs and cornerback Charles Tillman on the sideline for most of the 4th quarter.

The Bears fought valiantly, but the bounces just didn't fall their way Sunday.  A recovered onside kick was called back due to an offsides penalty, a touchdown was called back due to an illegal formation penalty, and a final attempt at a game-winning FG was only a few seconds beyond their reach.

We will have a more complete recap tomorrow, but for now, what are your thoughts?
