Nate Collins Injury Update: Chicago Bears DT exits Saints game with leg injury

One of the Chicago Bears thinnest positions just got a little thinner.

USA TODAY Sports

In the 3rd quarter of the Chicago Bears-New Orleans Saints contest, defensive tackle Nate Collins left the game with an apparent left leg injury.

Collins was making his second NFL start after the Bears lost Pro Bowler Henry Melton in Week 3 with a torn ACL. Melton was subsequently placed on the season-ending Injured Reserve list.

Already thin at defensive tackle, the Bears are now down to Stephen Paea, Zach Minter, and Landon Cohen to man the middle of the defensive line, if Collins is unable to return. Cohen was signed shortly after Melton went down.

Collins walked off the field under his own power, but was immediately ushered to the locker room for evaluation. The Bears have him listed as questionable to return.

Stay tuned to WCG for info on Collins' condition as it is made available.

Currently, the Bears are down 23-7 in the 3rd quarter, but are threatening inside the red zone. Stay tuned...

UPDATE:

Collins will not return for the remainder of the game:
