Monday Night Football Final Score: Chicago Bears defeat Dallas Cowboys 45-28

It was a wild night at Soldier Field, and the Chicago Bears kept their playoff hopes alive.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bears defeated the Dallas Cowboys 45-28 on a very special night at Soldier Field, and kept their 2013 playoff hopes alive.

Josh McCown looked like a 34 year old NFL veteran who had been a starting quarterback his entire career, but in reality he's a journeyman backup who is fortunate enough to be working under an offensive guru like Marc Trestman with a re-vamped offensive line.  He threw for 348 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs, and ran for another score.

DeMarco Murray came out running the ball for the Cowboys as he pleased, and reached the 99 yard mark in the 1st half alone.  But late in the 3rd quarter, the Bears went up by three possessions, and Murray was largely quiet the rest of the game.

Big games from Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, and Matt Forte-- all three are over 1,000 yards for the season so far, by the way-- put them in heavyweight boxing match with Dallas, but the Cowboys could never find their range before being hit with some heavy blows by Chicago in the 2d half.

Also tonight, Michael Keller Ditka's #89 was retired at halftime, which was considered by the majority of Bears fans as being long over due.  Congratulations, coach.

We will have a more comprehensive look tomorrow, but for tonight, let's leave it with a GIF that perfectly sums up tonight's victory over the Cowboys:

Quite a catch, Alshon. on Twitpic

Good night, Chicago!
