One of the ways to make your franchise more attractive to potential free agents if through the teams stadium and practice facility. Most teams throw the same type of money at players, but having a great home base of operations can sometimes boost one team over another. Today the Chicago Bears announced that they will not only upgrade Halas Hall, located in Lake Forest, Illinois, but they will also expand on the current layout. From chicagobears.com;

The Bears recently broke ground on a project slated to expand and upgrade their headquarters at Halas Hall. The renovation will enhance the football and business operations while providing new opportunities and experiences for fans visiting the team facility.

With the playing conditions at Soldier Field a running joke throughout the league, and the seating capacity among the worst in the league, beautifying Halas Hall is a grand idea.

The renovations could also become a revenue source;

"With the studio and event center, there is the opportunity for naming rights, which is a first here at Halas Hall," said Bears vice president of business administration John Bostrom.

The Bears announced that the entire project will be completed before the Bears return from mini camp this summer.
