Mocking the Mocks: Who CBSSports.com thinks the Chicago Bears will take

It's Mock Draft time in the NFL! That time of year when everyone and their grandma speculates on which player will go where. A time when we're sure to hear terms like "need position", "best player available" (or BPA for the true Draftnik), and "reach" thrown around. In the coming weeks here at Windy City Gridiron we'll look at a mock, present it to you, and ask you to mock it.

USA TODAY Sports

Today we're looking at Mock Drafts from Rob Rang of The Sports Xchange and CBSSports.com, and his CBSSports colleague Dane Brugler of NFLDraftScout.com. Both mocks were updated on 2/11, and can be found side by side by clicking on this link.

Each mock has the Chicago Bears going in a different direction, but both are picking on the offensive side of the ball. First up the mock from Rang...

With the 20th pick in the 2013 Mock Draft from Rob Rang, the Chicago Bears select, Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma... And here's what he had to say about the selection;

Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma: The Bears' offensive line is a mess and with little hope of getting better without reinforcements. Johnson, a former quarterback, tight end and defensive lineman at the junior college level, has developed into a quality tackle over the past two seasons with the Sooners and possesses the athletic upside to eventually be the top flight NFL left tackle Jay Cutler so desperately needs. Only the fact that Johnson remains a bit raw might keep him on the board at this point, as he has the feet and length of a future Pro Bowler.

I think once this kid has his combine workout, he'll move out of the Bears range at 20. Early reports have his 40 time clocked at 4.67, and it could just be some B.S. posturing from his camp, but he is an athletic freak for a guy his size. If he tests as good as expected, and looks good in the OL drills, a team will no doubt reach for his "potential".

Be sure to check out his entire mock, then let us know if this is the guy you would take.

Now shifting our attention to the mock from Dane Brugler...

With the 20th pick in the 2013 Mock Draft from Dane Brugler, the Chicago Bears select, Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame... And here's what he had to say about the selection;

Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame: With larger needs at linebacker and offensive line, tight end might be a long shot here, but Chicago needs to upgrade the position at some point this off-season. A Midwest kid, Eifert is a reliable pass catcher who will fit well with what the Bears want to do on offense.

I agree that he would be a good fit, I just question whether this is the right way to go.

Be sure to peep out his entire round one, and let us know if this is the same direction you would go for the Bears.
