As reported by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Chicago Bears are talking with Brian Urlacher about continuing his career in Chicago.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Bears and Urlacher are engaged in ongoing discussions aimed at extending a career that began in Chicago 13 years ago, via the first round of the draft.
Urlacher was never healthy in 2012, so it's hard to get a gauge on where he is as a player about to enter his 14th season in the NFL. So far this off season he's been actively training to get his body ready to go.
MORE: Brian Urlacher can't wait for next season to start
If Urlacher is 100%, there's no reason to believe he won't play more like the Urlacher we're used to seeing, and not like the guy that only showed flashes of himself in 2012. Since the Bears are keeping their defensive scheme in place, it makes sense to bring Urlacher back.

My personal feelings on Urlacher is a 1 or 2 year deal is the smart thing to do. He more than makes up for what ever athleticism he may have lost with his experience and leadership.
What do you guys think? You happy the Bears and #54 are talking?
