Mocking the Mocks: Who Dan Pompei and Brad Biggs of Chicago Tribune thinks the Chicago Bears will take

It's Mock Draft season around the NFL. That time of year where everyone has an opinion on who will go where, but then the real draft happens, and a trade or two throws the mocks out the window. It's still fun to examine the "experts" predictions, so today we're bringing you two mocks to mock.

Sometimes it's good to get the perspective of a local mock drafter, as the national experts are occasionally off base in their Chicago Bears pick. Today we'll bring you two such mocks, first it's the Dan Pompei mock draft from this weekend's Chicago Tribune. Here's who he has the Bears taking at 20;

20. Bears: Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington. He's another player who has seen his stock quietly rise. He would be a good value at this point.

I've been adamant in my belief that the Bears need a corner, and I think Trufant would be a good choice. His mock has both of the top rated guards off the board, as well as Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert, and Georgia LB Alec Ogletree. One thing that jumps out at me is West Virginia WR Tavon Austin still available when the Bears pick.

Austin was mocked to the Bears by a number of experts early in the mock draft process, but of late he's been going before 20. If he's still there he would pose an interesting option for Phil Emery.

Check out Pompei's mock and let us know which direction you would go if you were picking for the Bears.

The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs participated in an NFL beat writer mock draft for the L.A. Times, and here's who he picked at 20 for the Bears;

20. CHICAGO (Brad Biggs, Chicago Tribune) - Manti Te'o, ILB, Notre Dame: "Te'o is the best interior linebacker available, and the Bears have a pressing need with Brian Urlacher not returning."

While I wouldn't be surprised if the actual draft saw Te'o going to the Bears, in this mock both Trufant and Florida State corner Xavier Rhodes are available. I think I'd take a corner, and grab a linebacker in the 2nd or 3rd.

Check out Biggs' mock and let us know how you would draft if you were picking for the Bears and the actual draft fell like that.
