2013 NFL Draft: Chicago Bears Round 2 Open Thread

New, comments

Tonight in day two of the NFL Draft, rounds two and three will take place. Keep it right here at Windy City Gridiron for the best Chicago Bears / NFL Draft discussion bar none.

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

Phil Emery got his man yesterday. We might not agree with it, but Kyle Long was the guy the Chicago Bears targeted, and they made the pick.

There is a lot of depth in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, so it would not surprise me to see the Bears try and finagle a trade back. Then again, if their guy is sitting there at 50, much like their guy was sitting there at 20, expect Emery to jump at the chance to add to him team.

What if Arthur Brown the athletic linebacker from Kansas State is available? Here's a guy that was mocked to the Bears at 20 in numerous mock drafts, and a guy that many Bears fans would have been content with at 20. An Arthur Brown / Kyle Long 1-2 punch seems like a heck of a start to the 2013 Bears Draft doesn't it?

Here's some Kyle Long nuggets:

- He threw a baseball 95 mph in high school.
- He was a draft pick of the White Sox.
- He will wear #75 with the Bears, the same number his dad wore during his time with the Raiders.

Speaking of his dad, Hall Of Famer Howie Long, he didn't think his son would have been available later in the draft.

Be sure to keep it here all weekend long for wall to wall Draft coverage. Oh, and one final note: Go re-read the Community Guidelines. It's worth your time.
