I wasn't able to put together an open thread for you guys today during the actual minicamp, but what I can put together for you are some updates from the day. So, let's get right to it.
Jordan Mills had a five-word scouting report about fellow rookie Kyle Long - "That dude is a beast." Also, he's excited to work with Long and believes he and Long can anchor the line for years. In other news, the sky is blue and water is wet. But read anyway, it's good stuff.
If the Bears got an eventual starting left tackle and right tackle out of this draft, that's a great start to a dominant offensive line.
Eric LeGrand was Khaseem Greene's teammate at Rutgers before he was paralyzed against Army. The Sun-Times talked about Greene's personal life and the impact LeGrand has had on him here.
In other actual developments from minicamp, the Bears are expected to sign Temple cornerback Maurice Jones, though it's not known if anybody else from camp will be signed.
Long was playing at right tackle due to a shortage of bodies (the veterans aside from Matt Blanchard had the day off), so Jordan Mills lined up at right guard.
Defensive back C.J. Wilson was impressing the staff with his ball skills, so we'll see if anything comes from that.
And Khaseem Greene, according to Brad Biggs (as the last four remarks were from), looked a little heavier than his 6'1", 241 pounds, or at least looked large enough that the team would like him to slim down a little bit.
Marquess Wilson's thrilled to have a second chance. Quite frankly, I don't blame him.
In case you missed it, the Bears tried a new helmet-cam with backup quarterback Matt Blanchard. Also, did you know the team has two young new linebackers? Mel Tucker likes 'em.
