The Chicago Bears signed four players that participated in their rookie mini camp, defensive tackles Corvey Irvin and Christian Tupou, wide receiver Demetrius Fields, and corner back Maurice Jones. In corresponding roster moves, the Bears released linebacker Dom DeCicco and cornerback LeQuan Lewis.
Corey Irvin (6' 2", 295), former 3rd round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers, has seen NFL action for three different teams since 2010.
Christian Tupou (6' 2" 289), is a high motor player that will look to make an impression with a number of young DTs that the Bears have signed.
Demetrius Fields (5' 11", 207), Northwestern WR - Here are his pro day numbers, and here is some more about Fields from the Chicago Bears website.
As a fifth-year senior in 2012, Fields won the Carnig Minasian Citizenship Award, which is presented to a Northwestern player who has been an outstanding citizen on campus, in the community, in practice and on the field.
Maurice Jones (5' 9", 193), Temple CB - Jones maybe a nickle prospect, but he also played a lot of special teams at Temple which could help him stand out to the Bears.
