Pete Prisco of CBS Sports has dropped his annual list of overrated and underrated players for each team in the NFL. Here's who he deems overrated for the Chicago Bears.
Overrated: LT Jermon Bushrod. Yes, I know they needed help. And he's better than what they had. But he had some issues last season in New Orleans. He's not as good as his contract, that's for sure.
There's a chance that he won't live up to his contract, but the sheer fact that he's helping to stabilize the offensive line is enough for me to not call him overrated. If week four rolls around and he's leading my Sackwatch series, I may revisit that last sentence.
In my opinion the most overrated player on the Bears is Henry Melton.
Don't get me wrong, I do think he's a good player, he's just not a "franchise" type defensive lineman. He still needs to improve his run defense, and call me crazy, but I'd like more than six sacks from my three technique defensive tackle. Especially on a d-line that still has Julius Peppers getting double teamed.
Now it's your turn, who do you peg as the most overrated Chicago Bear?
